Language training - academic and business English and Swedish
Humans are the only creature who has a language: expressions of our thoughts - visual and auditory images, and abstract propositions - which we use to send information from one mind to other minds.
After our ancestors' brains had expanded significantly, from the occipedal lobe and forward, and our genus was established, they started to use a cultural pragmatic language. Over a long period of time, a grammatical structure emerged.
Peter Österberg is an expert in evolutionary social neuropsychology, including social aspects of human emotions. He earned his PhD in psychology from Lund university on a thesis about the relationship between leadership style and social creativity - a mental capacity which is general to humans. He has at least 20 years experience of teaching and lecturing in English and Swedish. His pedagogic approach is implicit learning (Seger, 1994). That means that the focus is less on phonetics and syntax, and more on semantics and pragmatism.
Individuals or groups are welcome to fine-tune their verbal ability in Swedish or English. The English conversations are organized by Fast Forward in Philadelphia, USA.
2004 - 2018, I lectured in Swedish or English at various universities in Sweden, e.g. Gothenburg university, Karlstad Business School, and Uppsala university.
Between 2007 - 2022, I taught in Swedish at the University of Helsingfors.
During 2022 and 2023 I have been a co-host for three different language cafés. The deal is to listen or partake in the conversion.
It's simple, we meet at a café or a place of your choice, including via internet.
