Course/lecture: children's emotional and social adjustment and cognitive development

Important mental adjustments and development occur during children's first five years of living (Baumrind, 1966; Gopnik, 2016; Hart and Risley, 1995).

Mental development can be divided into adjustment and development.

Adjustment refers to emotional and social things, e.g., self-esteem, depression - mental harmony, and impulse control.

Development refers to cognition, e,g., acquiring and formation of knowledge, understanding concepts and their interrelations, imagination, its application: decision-making, judgment, and evaluation, as well as reasoning, for example for problem-solving.

Children who from 3 month of age grove up with both parents or the father have better emotional and social adjustment, as well as cognitive development compared to children who grow up only with their mother (Rolle et al. 2019; Sethna et al. 2017; Vieno et al. 2009, 2014; Österberg, 2004).

For a course or lecture to take place, there need to be a minimum 10 participants. The best way is to gather 10 people or more, arrange a conference room or lecture hall at your own expense, and then contact me.
